How can it save a couple of hours? You still have to scrape the collecting yards presumably so it only takes a couple of min to nip through the stalls with the tractor. I suppose you don't have to move the cows but I'm still not sure it's worth it. Cool though if it was free! 😂

It’d be even better if there was a rinse system to actually wash the shit instead of just scraping the bulk and mushing it into the floor.

A 60 point rotary would of been future proof

Having worked in many dairies in my time, and I have seen ALL types of milking sheds, rotaries, herringbone, walk through etc etc. By far the best shed I’ve seen and worked in was a 20 cow triangle shaped herringbone. 20 cows on each side of the triangle, (60 cows all up) rapid exit and the cows entering at 2 points at the bottom triangle (if you can picture a triangle)

I have just done the same thing myself. I left farming to get my self a decent working pension and then I got back into it. My gawd the only thing that has not changed was the actual cow. The rest of modern farming is something I am still learning.

Love anything to do with dairy cow farming. Love it to death.

I live on the Isle of Wight and when I started milking cows in the late 70's there were over 100 dairy farms on the Island, now in 2023 there are less than 8. It is so sad that farming has gone this way. Not only for the farmers but for people like myself who spent their childhood dreaming of owning their own dairy to then see it declining so fast.

What a brilliant parlor and so relaxing for the herd.
